A little about me . . .

I’m a dog lover, latté drinker, recreational Crossfit athlete and yogi, life-long learner and happiness seeker.

As a nutrition and lifestyle coach, I help others to reclaim their health and become the most vibrant, vital, and happiest versions of themselves through one-on-one, individualized counseling and support.

I specialize in helping women who are dealing with the symptoms of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance, such as pre-diabetes, elevated blood pressure and cholesterol, excess weight, fatigue, and general “feel like crap” syndrome. My clients are not content to spend the rest of their lives on medications and “just getting by,” and are ready to embrace healthier lifestyles in order to stop feeling like crap and start living life to the fullest.

I believe each of us has the right to live a long, healthy life. I believe age is just a number, and health and vitality are not just inherent benefits of our teens and twenties. I believe in being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to health, and I believe the chronic diseases plaguing our current culture have no place and no claim over the millions of lives they take annually.

Fundamentally, nutrition, movement, and stress management are all key in cultivating optimal health, yet so is finding the proper motivation, support, and accountability. As a nutrition and lifestyle coach, I am here to be a partner and ally for you in creating your best healthy and happy life.

My background . . .

I was born and raised in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. I am the third of four sisters, and had a wonderful childhood goofing around with them. My turning point came in 2002 when my father lost his long and painful battle with bladder cancer. After that, my teen years were a bit of a blur, and subsequently, as a young adult, I developed a very strong interest in health and fitness.

Though I never truly considered myself to be athletically gifted (please, no one invite me to play ball sports!) I dabbled in various athletic competitions, from 5k runs to the 2012 Warrior Classic Novice Figure Competition, to the Las Vegas Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon.

In the spring of 2012 I graduated cum laude from Colorado State University with my Bachelors of Science in Health and Exercise Science.  After college, I began to work as a personal trainer and quickly realized that, though I love fitness, exercise alone will not sustain optimal health.

In early 2013, bored with my typical gym routine and inspired by my boyfriend at the time, I took my first steps into a CrossFit gym and fell in love!  Since then, my philosophy of health has expanded to include not only kick-ass fitness, but also whole foods nutrition, and an emphasis on balance and personal happiness.

In July of 2014, I took a huge leap of faith, packed up my car, and headed from home sweet home Colorado to my dream city, San Diego. A couple short months later and still chasing dreams, I started my Masters of Science in Nutrition and Functional Medicine.

Because my background includes elements of nutrition, fitness, psychology, and Functional Medicine, my clients know that I provide them with comprehensive, customized, and effective health solutions. After all, our genetics, preferences, and resources are all different, so shouldn’t are strategies for healthy living fit us as individuals?
